Low Stress Elongation Tester

This tester performs the low stress elongation (LSE) test according to ASTM D-1676 for magnet wire and B-279 for uninsulated wire. The tester applies a specified tension (15,000 psi for copper and 8,000 psi for aluminum) to a 10-inch specimen of round wire for 30 seconds and the permanent elongation or LSE is measured after unloading. LSE is a measure of the formability of the wire. It tests magnet wire sizes 8 to 30 AWG.
