Scrape Abrasion Tester

This tester determines the scrape abrasion resistance of magnet wire insulation. The loaded scrape head reciprocates at a rate of 60 cycles per minute (1 forward and backward stroke is 1 cycle) and a stroke length of 3/8 inch. The wire sample is rotated through 120° and 240° after each test, allowing 3 scrape tests per sample. When the scrape needle exposes the bare conductor, the number of cycles is recorded on the digital counter. It tests magnet wire sizes 12 to 30 AWG.
