The Nova+ 1165-2 Dissipation Factor Tester measures the dissipation factor (DF) value, also
known as Tangent Delta Value, of film insulated magnet wires. DF indicates the degree of cure
of the magnet wire insulation. This test will determine quickly whether the insulation is cured to
the desired cure range if a reference cure data was already established. A sample holder is
included for round wires 0.25 to 4 mm and rectangular wire up to2.5 x 6 mm.
The Nova 1165-2 has 2 test cells (solder pots) and a Common Contact Post.
A wire form is included to prepare consistent test samples for insertion into the solder pots.
The solder pots can be controlled to within +/- 1° C for accurate and repeatable test results.
The Nova 1165-2 automatically controls the amount of time a sample has been at the elevated
temperature in the test cell. This Dwell time can be set up to 600 seconds.
The test can be configured to start automatically upon insertion of the sample into the solder pot.
When the test is complete. the DF test result is automatically sent out via WiFi to the optional
WR-100 WiFi Hub (receiver).
